Mark your calendars for 13th European Vascular Course, which will be held in Maastricht with the time frame changing from May to February 26-28, 2009.
After thorough reflection we have found Maastricht to have many advantages for the EVC, as the proximity between meeting facilities and the vascular center will open many new educational options for the European Vascular Course. At the moment extensive preparations are underway for organizing the event and we will inform you in due course about the program and news in connection with the next EVC.
Maastricht is one of the few midsize towns, where the congress center (MECC) is next to the Maastricht's Academisch Ziekenhuis, the University Hospital. The MECC is an excellent facility with Hotels close by. We are certain that this infrastructure will be advantageous for the organization of the European Vascular Course and especially for the participants.
...has been a great success and will enter the annals as the best ever to date!
This year's European Vascular Course has been very well visited, by participants from many countries. The European Venous Course, Endovascular Chapter, the sessions of the European Vascular Course and the Satellite Symposia were packed with our participants.
Interactive technology has enriched the Courses, giving attendants an opportunity to participate by giving their vote to preset answers to questions from presenting physicians. Sometimes results exposed quite diverse results, provoking discussions between audience and speakers.
The opening event this morning has been chaired by Dr. Cees Wittens, Rotterdam as organizer of the European Venous Course, who introduced the new section of the EVC.
In his address in an almost fully auditorium (Kraznapolski Hotel in Amsterdam), Dr. Wittens already confirmed the continuation and extension of the European Venous Course for Maastricht in 2009. "The proximity of the University hospital will allow live-cases and will be very convenient for extending the course with more sessions" said Wittens in his introductory comments, today.
...with the European Vascular Course. The 2 day hands-on course has been fully booked and the group of international participants has enjoyed the intensive program around Aortic- and Carotid open- and endovascular surgery. The training was held by www.vascular-international.org and their tutors together with a team of Maastricht & Aachen.

Today we have released the paper by Edouard Kieffer and Laurent Criche which has been presented at the EVC 2007 for you to download. This can be seen as a demonstration of the excellent quality of presentations at the European Vascular Course!

Next year the 13th European Vascular Course will be held in Maastricht with the time frame changing from May to February 26-28, 2009.
The word “focus” also can be applied for taking this particular decision as Maastricht seems an ideal place for the EVC, not only because of the beautiful, historic town being at the origin of the European Union's foundation. The proximity between meeting facilities and vascular center will open many new educational options for the European Vascular Course intensifying its academic learning program. Maastricht is one of the few midsize towns where the congress center (MECC) is only a stone cast away from Maastricht's Academisch Ziekenhuis, the University Hospital. The MECC also has Hotels close by which holds additional arguments for the move.
